ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY

ChipHead supports game servers and online communities used by players around the world. We provide the infrastructure — you create the experience.

In this policy, “platform” means all ChipHead services, including game server hosting, Discord bot hosting, VPS (virtual private servers), dedicated servers, web hosting, voice servers, and any additional services we may offer now or in the future (collectively, the “Services”).

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) explains what is allowed on our platform and what is not. As the account holder, you are expected to take reasonable steps to ensure your Services are not used for abusive, illegal, or harmful purposes. That includes your own conduct and, where possible, the environment you create for others (such as players or community members). Abuse—whether between users, across communities, or directed at ChipHead—is taken seriously.

By using our Services, you agree to this AUP, our Terms of Service, and our Privacy Policy.

1. Who This Policy Applies To

ChipHead is used by all kinds of communities, from small private groups to large public servers. This AUP sets the standards for what’s acceptable and what crosses the line. If you host with ChipHead, you are responsible for ensuring your use of the platform complies with these rules.

2. What You Can’t Do

We monitor server performance and resource usage to keep the platform stable, but we do not proactively review everything that happens inside customer services. However, if we become aware that our platform is being used to cause harm, violate the law, or put others at risk, we will act.

You may not use ChipHead Services for the activities below. This list is not exhaustive. If you are unsure whether something is allowed, contact us before proceeding.

Illegal or Dangerous Activity

You may not:

• Violate any applicable local, state, federal, or international laws or regulations
• Host, distribute, or promote malware, ransomware, spyware, or phishing scams
• Launch, coordinate, or assist with DDoS attacks or other network abuse
• Host, share, or use pirated software, cracked games, or unauthorized copies of licensed content (including paid mods/plugins/add-ons obtained without proper permission or payment)
• Use the Services in any way that disables, overburdens, or materially impairs our servers or infrastructure (whether intentional or not)

Harmful Content or Behavior

You may not:

• Harass, bully, threaten, stalk, or target individuals or groups
• Promote or engage in hate speech, violent extremism, or discriminatory ideologies
• Share illegal child sexual abuse material or any content involving minors that violates child safety laws, including sexually exploitative material
• Encourage, glorify, or promote self-harm, suicide, or dangerous behavior

Misleading, Abusive, or Deceptive Practices

You may not:

• Knowingly spread false information intended to cause harm or confusion
• Impersonate others, including ChipHead staff, community figures, or public officials
• Engage in phishing, social engineering, or other deceptive efforts to obtain private or sensitive information

Misuse of Services

You may not:

• Monetize a server/community in a way that violates a game developer’s EULA or monetization policy
• Abuse system resources through crypto mining, spam, automated scraping, or unauthorized bots
• Host content or run services that degrade platform stability or impact other customers
• Use Services in ways that violate fair use expectations, including sustained excessive usage that negatively affects others (see Section 6)

Enforcement and Consequences

Violations of this AUP may result in one or more actions, depending on severity, including:

• Removing content
• Suspending services
• Terminating accounts
• Denying refunds
• Restricting access to certain features
• Throttling resources to reduce impact on others

This list is not exhaustive. We may take any other actions we reasonably believe are necessary to protect the platform, our customers, or our infrastructure.

If the situation involves illegal activity or credible threats to others, we may also report it to law enforcement or other relevant authorities.

3. Service-Specific Expectations

This AUP applies to all Services, but certain service types have common patterns of misuse. The sections below add clarification for those services.

Game Servers

You may not:

• Upload, distribute, or use pirated modpacks or paid plugins without the proper license or author permission
• Bypass developer licensing systems or server software protections
• Monetize in ways that violate a developer’s EULA or monetization rules (for example, prohibited pay-to-win features)
• Host game clients, cracked launchers, or redistribute game files without authorization

You are responsible for complying with applicable third-party terms related to the games and content you host.

VPS and Dedicated Servers

You are fully responsible for what you run on VPS and dedicated servers. You may not use these servers to:

• Run cryptocurrency mining software of any kind (CPU/GPU/ASIC)
• Operate open proxies, TOR exit nodes, or tunneling services designed to mask identity or location
• Send spam email, run mail bombers, or operate mass mailing systems without consent and safeguards
• Host pirated content, keygens, cracked software, or unauthorized file-sharing services
• Deploy DDoS tools, port scanners, botnets, brute-force scripts, or penetration/testing tools without explicit permission
• Run knowingly vulnerable stacks or ignore abuse/security complaints (repeated incidents or inaction may lead to suspension)
• Operate or provide VPN services (including commercial VPNs, anonymizers, or tunneling offerings)

You must maintain basic security hygiene, including keeping software updated, using strong non-default passwords, and using appropriate firewall protections.

Web Hosting

Web hosting must be used for legitimate websites. You may not:

• Host phishing pages, fake login portals, or sites designed to steal personal information
• Host malware, droppers, exploit kits, or similar harmful payloads
• Distribute pirated media (movies, software, music, ebooks, etc.) or link/mirror infringing content
• Run resource-heavy or broken deployments that degrade server performance (e.g., excessive cron jobs, broken plugins, large looping imports/exports)
• Use web hosting as a general file hosting platform, CDN replacement, or mirror network

Voice and Discord Bot Hosting

These services are for legitimate communication and bot operation. You may not:

• Use bots to spam, scrape, phish, or collect user data without clear disclosure and valid consent
• Run selfbots, DM spammers, auto-joiners, or similar tools that violate Discord’s (or other platforms’) rules
• Use voice services for disruptive flooding or mass voice spam

While we may assist with basic setup or troubleshooting, you are responsible for your bots and for the behavior of voice server users.

Note: The examples above are not exhaustive. Any use of the Services that we reasonably believe is illegal, harmful, abusive, or inconsistent with the intent of this AUP may result in suspension or termination, even if not specifically listed.

4. Respect the Games You Host

We host many game titles, each with its own license terms, modding rules, and monetization policies. You are responsible for ensuring your server complies with those requirements (including restrictions on unauthorized monetization, pay-to-win features, or prohibited mods/plugins).

If you use ChipHead for non-game services, you must also comply with any relevant licenses and terms that apply to those services.

5. Abuse Reporting

If you believe ChipHead Services are being used for abusive, illegal, or harmful activity, report it to report@chiphead.tech. Include as much helpful detail as possible (such as IP addresses, logs, timestamps, and screenshots). We review reports seriously and act when activity violates this AUP.

6. Fair Use

Some Services include flexible resource allocations (including, in some cases, unmetered storage). These features are intended for normal use and work best when used fairly.

Services must be used for their intended purpose. For example, using a game server to store unrelated personal files is not permitted.

If usage materially exceeds normal consumption and/or impacts platform performance for other customers, we may throttle, migrate, or suspend your service. Examples include persistent overuse, runaway scripts, plugins with memory leaks, or repeated instability caused by resource demands. Occasional CPU-heavy activity can happen, but sustained overuse may trigger enforcement.

We may update this AUP as our Services evolve. Changes will be posted on this page, and for significant updates we may notify you by email where required by law.
